The GnosiaH Laboratory at the UFMG Faculty of Pharmacy carries out teaching, research, and extension activities on medicinal plants, herbal medicines, and homeopathy. The laboratory is coordinated by Prof. Rachel Oliveira Castilho and Prof. Marina Scopel.
Pharmacist-biochemist from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP). Specialist in Homeopathy from the Minas Gerais Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists (AMFH) and in Management and Teaching in Higher Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC - MG). She holds a Master's degree in Diabetes Education from the Institute of Teaching and Research (IEP) of Santa Casa de Misericórdia de BH - MG. She is currently a PhD student in the Postgraduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), whose line of research concerns the development of natural and synthetic biopharmaceuticals. Her doctoral research project involves building the avMpNp DB - Antiviral Medicinal Plants and Natural Products Database, a database of bioactive substances from biodiversity with antiviral activity. avMpNp DB plays an important role as a source for acquiring, organizing and distributing knowledge to help solve pressing issues, such as the search for new drugs for COVID-19 and other viral infections. The researcher also works as a member of the Homeopathy technical group of the Regional Pharmacy Council of Minas Gerais (CRF-MG) and as a lecturer in technical, undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Pharmacy and Homeopathic Medicine, as well as in multidisciplinary residency programs at the Sofia Feldmann Hospital.
